Privacy Policy

How JobCount collects, uses, stores and protects the data you share with us when you use our platform — and the rights you have over that data.

Effective: April 30, 2026 jobcount.org [email protected]

JobCount values its users' privacy. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect and use personal information from those who visit our website or make use of our online facilities and services, and what we will and will not do with the information we collect. This Policy has been designed to ensure those affiliated with JobCount of our commitment and obligation not only to meet, but to exceed, most existing privacy standards.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Policy at any time. To stay current with any changes, please check this page periodically. If JobCount decides to use any personally identifiable information in a manner materially different from that stated when collected, you will be notified by an in-app prompt the next time you log in.

This Policy applies to JobCount (also referred to as "the platform") and governs all data collection and usage by us. By using the platform, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy.

This Policy does not govern the collection and use of information by companies that JobCount does not control, nor by individuals not employed or managed by us. Always review the privacy policy of any external site before sharing your information with it.

1

Information we collect

Whether to share personal information with us is always your choice, although certain features of the platform are unavailable without it. We collect:

  • Voluntarily provided information — such as your name, address, email address, mobile phone number, and billing details. Used to provide the products and services you request.
  • Automatically collected information when you visit our website, including cookies, third-party analytics tags, IP address, browser type, and server logs.
  • Operational data generated as you use the platform — work orders, customer records, vehicle information, photos, recordings, and messages exchanged through our integrated communications tools.

We may also collect non-personal demographic information (general location, device type, OS) to help us maintain and improve service quality. We only collect personal information you knowingly and willingly provide via account signup, forms, emails, or in-app actions.

2

Why we collect information & how long we keep it

We collect data to:

  • Provide the services you have requested;
  • Improve our products and platform;
  • Send transactional notices and account-related messages;
  • With your consent, send you platform updates we think you'll find useful;
  • Customize your experience based on usage patterns and preferences.

We retain data only as long as necessary based on: how long the information remains relevant, the period reasonable to demonstrate that we have fulfilled our duties, applicable limitation periods, retention periods prescribed by law or regulators, and the existence of your consent.

3

How we use the information

JobCount does not now, nor will it in the future, sell, rent, or lease its customer lists or names to any third parties.

We use personal information to operate the platform, deliver requested services, maintain account security, and — from time to time — inform you of related products or features that may benefit your business.

We may also contact you to participate in surveys or research to help us improve the platform.

4

Disclosure of information

JobCount will not disclose information you provide except under the following circumstances:

  • As necessary to provide services or products you have ordered;
  • In other ways described in this Policy or to which you have consented;
  • As required by law, in response to a subpoena or search warrant;
  • To outside auditors who have agreed to keep the information confidential;
  • As necessary to enforce the Terms of Service;
  • As necessary to safeguard the rights and property of JobCount.
5

SMS & messaging data

SMS opt-in details are covered in their own dedicated page: SMS Consent & Opt-In Disclosure. The summary below describes how SMS data is handled under this Privacy Policy.

JobCount-powered repair shops use SMS and MMS to communicate with their customers about Repair Order status, vehicle pickup, additional approvals, and other service-related matters. When SMS messaging is used:

  • Mobile phone numbers are collected only from customers who have consented to receive text messages, typically by signing the shop's Repair Order intake form or providing verbal authorization at the time of vehicle drop-off.
  • SMS message content (both inbound and outbound) is stored on our platform to maintain a record of customer communication and to support our service-writer tools.
  • Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances.
  • Recipients can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP, contacting the shop directly, or emailing [email protected].
  • Standard message and data rates may apply to messages sent from or received on a recipient's mobile device.
6

Non-marketing communications

JobCount respects your privacy. We reserve the right to contact you for non-marketing reasons (bug alerts, security advisories, account issues, and material changes to our services) by email, SMS, or in-app notice. In certain circumstances we may post a public notice on our website.

7

Children under the age of 13

The JobCount website and platform are not directed to, and do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from, children under the age of thirteen (13). If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will promptly delete it from our systems or, alternatively, obtain verifiable parental consent. Anyone under 13 must obtain parent or guardian permission to use this platform.

8

Unsubscribe / opt-out

You can stop receiving communications from us at any time:

  • Email newsletters: use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, change your in-app communication preferences, or email [email protected].
  • SMS messages: reply STOP to any text from a JobCount-powered shop, or contact the shop directly.
  • Account deletion: available from your in-app settings or by emailing [email protected].
9

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to affiliate and other third-party sites. JobCount does not accept responsibility for the privacy policies, practices, or procedures of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy statement of every website that collects personally identifiable information. This Policy applies only to information collected through our own website and platform.

10

Your rights as a data subject

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar regional data laws, you have the following rights:

  • Right to be informed — we explain how we use your data through this Policy.
  • Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you. Email [email protected].
  • Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data via your account settings or by emailing us.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of the data we hold about you (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Right to restrict processing — change your communication preferences or opt out of certain processing.
  • Right of data portability — obtain a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Right to object — file a formal objection regarding our use of your information.

We always aim to encrypt and anonymize personal information whenever possible and have protocols in place in the unlikely event of a data breach.

11

Security

JobCount takes precautions to protect your information, both online and offline. Sensitive information (such as credit-card details) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS — you can verify this by looking for the lock icon and https prefix in your browser's address bar.

Only employees who need the information to perform a specific function are granted access to personally identifiable information. Servers storing personal data are kept in a secure environment with access controls in place to prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.

12

Acceptance of terms

By using this website and platform, you accept the terms set out in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services. Continued use of the platform following any update to this Policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
